8/2/17 – A Legislative Solution to the Gateway West Transmission Project

The Gateway West Transmission Project consists of 1,000 miles of new high-voltage transmission lines between the Windstar substation near Glenrock, Wyoming and the Hemingway substation near Melba, Idaho. This spring, Idaho Congressmen Mike Simpson and Raul Labrador introduced legislation that would clear the way for the transmission line to be built through the Snake River Birds of Prey NCA, moving the project forward. What are the impacts of this legislative solution, and what will a completed project mean for power users in the area? Mark Stokes from Idaho Power and Danielle Murray from the Conservation Lands Foundation will be our guests for this episode.
