Renown for its clean, cold water and abundant trout population, Silver Creek and its tributaries are a destination for anglers from all over the world. In recent years, anglers, recreationists and landowners have noticed trends within the watershed that threaten Silver Creek’s ecological integrity. In 2010, Ecosystem Sciences Foundation and others initiated a watershed-wide monitoring program to assess the threats to Silver Creek and its tributaries. On this episode, rebroadcast from February, Derek Risso and Timothy Maguire of Ecosystem Sciences shares the results of those studies and how the data will drive future management efforts.
